Assam About this sound listen is a state in Northeast India, situated south of the eastern Himalayas along the Brahmaputra and Barak River valleys. Assam covers an area of 78,438 km2.The state is bordered by Bhutan and the state of Arunachal Pradesh to the north; Nagaland and Manipur to the east; Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram and Bangladesh to the south; and West Bengal to the west via the Siliguri Corridor, a kilometres strip of land that connects the state to the rest of India.

Itinerary

    • After on arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, assistance and warm traditional welcome by our representative and to Shillong, also known as ‘The Scotland of the East’ is the capital city of Meghalaya. En route you will visit the largest manmade lake of Northeast India – Umium Lake. Reaching Shillong after 3 hours journey (approximately), we check-in at a city Hotel. After freshen up visit Don Bosco Museum,Ward’s lake and Cathedral of Marry, Evening free for shopping or for shopping in the famous Police Bazaar in Shillong . Overnight in Shillong.
    • Morning after breakfast explore Cherrapunjee which is famed for being the wettest place in the world. Enrout visit Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls situated on the outskirts of the city. After a drive of 1 ½ hours amid pine trees and mists we reach Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive limestone caves. In Cherrapunji, we visit the Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Caves, Eco Park,Ram Krishna Mission and the Thangkharang Park .Later back to Shillong. Overnight in Shillong.
    • Today after breakfast drive to Bhalukpong (250kms/6 hrs drive approx). Bhalukpong is the border of the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh is a place of enthralling scenic beauty. The sparkling river Jia Bharali which passes through Bhalukpong is an adventure lover’s paradise. By the side of the river is the Nameri National Park which falls under Project Tiger. Overnight will be at Bhalukpong.
    • At morning enjoy River rafting at Nameri (subject to availability) Latertransfer to Dirang (200km 7hrs). En-route visit Tipi Orchidarium, a glass house with over 7500 Orchids. Overnight stay in Hotel in Dirang.
    • At morning visit the Kiwi & Apple Gardens. After viewing the beautiful valley of Dirang overlooking the river and inhabited by colorful tribes, proceed towards the Sela Pass (13703 ft) spend some lovely times by the paradise lake. Reaching Tawang (143 km, 7hrs) check in at Hotel Overnight at Tawang.
    • After breakfast explore Tawang Monastery, founded by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso during 17th Century A.D. a contemporary of the fifth Dalai Lama. Evening free for leisure or shopping in the local market. Overnight at Hotel.
    • Early morning, drive to Jang to get a breath taking view of waterfalls. Pay homage at the Jashwant Garh Indo Chinese War Memorial and down hill drive (185km, 7hrs) to Bomdila. Overnight at Hotel at Bomdila.
    • After breakfast Check out from the hotel and transfer to Guwahati airport to catch the late evening flight for the onward journey.
